Support - provides a frame and enables balance
protection - skull protects brain
ribs protect lungs

A

flexion - angle at joint decreases
extension- angle at the joint increases
abduction- movement of the limb AWAY from the body
adduction- movement of limb TOWARDS body
rotation- bone at joint moves around its own axis in a circular motion

better posture
increase in synovial fluid- aids flexibility
