What is a Long bone?
They are bones found in the limbs (arms and legs).
What are the Long bones function?
Movement, Support and Red Blood Cell production.
What are the names of all of the Long bones?
Femur, Humerus, Tibia and Fibula, Radius and Ulna
What is a Short bone?
Small light strong, cube-shaped bones consisting of cancellous bone surrounded by a thin layer of compact bone.
What are the Short bones function?
Fine for small movements, shock absorption, stability and weight bearing.

Carpals and tarsels
What is an Flat Bone?
Thin, flattened and slightly curved, with a large surface area.
What are the Flat bones function?
Attachment for muscles and protection.

Sternum, scapula, ribs, pelvis and cranium
What is an Irregular bone?
Have complex shapes that fit in none of the other categories.
What are the Irregular bones function?
Protection and movement

Found within a tendon and these bones provide a smooth surface for the bones to slide over.

Protection and reduction of friction acrosee a joint.
