Outline the Schirmer Test.

A
  • Fold a piece of filter paper under the lower eyelid
  • Leave it there for 5 minutes
  • Measure the distance along the strip that becomes moist
  • In a healthy adult, it should be around 15mm
  • Less than 10mm is diagnostic

A
  • Artificial tears
  • Artificial saliva
  • Vaginal lubricant
  • Hydroxychloroquine prevents the progression of the disease
