Antinomianism
“Against law”. The belief that there should be no laws or principles governing human behaviour
Absolute
An ethical principle that cannot be challenged. These are held at all times, in all places, among all societies.
Agape
Self-sacrificial, unconditional love. The love that God shows to humankind.
Personalism
A presupposition that morality is about persons, not rules
Positivism
A presupposition that ethical norms are held by faith: agape love is the only intrinsically good thing
Pragmatism
A presupposition that we should do that is pragmatic, what works in the situation
Relativism
A presupposition that moral values relate to culture, society, content etc. and therefore ethical norms will vary from one culture to another.
Intrinsic good
Something that is ethically good in and of itself.
