Why did the Sino-Soviet split occur?
A
- Mao did not like Krushchev, rather supported Stalin when he was ousted
- Mao did not like that Krushchev wanted to forge a better relationship with America
- Soviets promised Nuclear weapons for China in 1957 as a token of solidarity, then withdrew the promise because Mao acted far too casually about having such powerful weaponry
- Soviets did not support China in Indian border dispute
- Mao and Krushchev acted like 5 years olds calling each other names e.g. “ultra-leftist, ultra-dogmatist, left deviationist”
- They split formally
