Porifera
An aquatic invertebrate. Like a sponge.
Cnidaria
An aquatic invertebrate. Like a jellyfish.
Annelid
A segmented worm. Like an earthworm or leech.
Hydroid
a minute freshwater coelenterate with a stalklike tubular body and a ring of tentacles around the mouth
Jellyfish
A free swimming marine creature. Has radial symmetry, and catches prey with stinging tentacles.
Platyhelminthes
Soft bodied invertebrates, flatworms
Nematoda
Round worms.
Pinworms
A small nematode worm which is a parasite.
Tapeworms
A parasitic flatworm that lives in the stomachs of humans and other vertebrates.
Bivalves
An aquatic mollusk that has a compressed body enclosed within a hinged shell. Oysters, clams.
Gastropods
A mollusk like a snail or slug.
Coelomate
Have a body cavity.
Acoelomate
An invertebrate lacking a coelom. ONLY has a digestive cavity.
Radial Symmetry
Symmetry around a central axis.
Asymmetry
No Symmetry
Bilateral Symmetry
Symmetry split along two halves. In complex organisms.
Tentacle
A soft flexible limb, usually with suction cups.
Cnidocyte
An explosive cell containing one giant secretory organelle.
Ectoderm
The outermost layer of cells or tissue of an embryo in early development
Endoderm
The innermost layer of cells or tissue of an embryo in early development
Ovary
A female sex organ. Contains all the ovums, or eggs.
Teste
A male sex organ. Contains sperm.
