forceful blow or external force applied to GH joint when the joint is in a position that combines abduction, ER, and extension

What is piriformis syndrome?
compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve due to piriformis muscle inflammation, spasm, or contracture

A “Dashboard” injury in which the leg receives a posterior directed for when flexed and ankle is plantarflexed
Can also occur from hyperflexion of the knee

How do symptoms typically present in patients who have lumbar spinal stenosis?
unilateral radiculopathy like symptoms such as weakness, numbness, and diminished reflexes
can also present bilaterally but is much more rare
symptoms are typically exacerbated by activities which require increased spinal extension
