The silk road was a network of paths connecting civilizations in the East and West that was well traveled for approximately 1,400 years. Merchants on the silk road transported goods and traded at bazaars along the way

Baghdad which was the capital city of the Islamic Empires. At that time it was called Madinat al-Salam which meant ‘ City of Peace’. It was one of the most populous and richest at that time.
