Describe the Lisfranc ligament.
A
• Lisfranc ligament is between the medial cuneiform and base of 2nd metatarsal
• Strongest part of TMT joint is 2nd TMT joint which is
recessed between medial and lateral cuneiforms

A
- Usually high energy injuries e.g. RTA, crush injuries,
falls from height

What imaging is required in a Lisfranc fracture dislocation?
A
- Xray: AP, Lat & Oblique
- 2nd & 4th MT bases align with medial Border of
middle cuneiform & cuboid

What is the main risk of a talus fracture?
A
Risk of AVN from talar neck fractures (urgent surgery)
