AsmadSri Guru-paryantam Vande Guru-paramparãm
I bow down with reverence to the Holy Tradition beginning with the Eternal Principle (Sadãsiva), with Śri ādi Śhankarāchārya in the middle, who revived the knowledge and the same knowledge is now available to us through our beloved Guru who represents and enlivens the energies of all the Masters of the Holy Tradition.
apavitrah pavitro vā sarvāvasthāngato’piva vā
yah smaret pundarikaksam sa bāhyābhyantarah sucih
Whether pure or impure, whether in all places permeated, whoever opens himself to the expanded vision of unbounded awareness, gains inner and outer purity.

narayanam padmabhavam vasistam
saktinca tatputra parasaranca
vyasam sukam gaudapadam mahantam
govindayogindramathasya sisyam
sri sankaracaryamsthasya padmapadanca
hastamalakanca sisyam
tam trotakam vartikakaramanyam
asmad gurum santatamanatosmi
To Lord Nārāyanam, to lotus-born (Padmabhava) Brahma, to vasista to Sakti and his son, Parasara to Vyasa, to the great Gaudapada, to Govinda, ruler among Yogis, to his disciple, Sri Śhankarāchārya, to his disciples, Padmapada, and Hastamalaka, to him Trotakacarya and Vartikakara, to others, to the tradition of our Masters, I bow down.
sruti-smrti-purananam alayam karunalayam
namami bhagavatpadam sankaram lokasankaram
To the abode of the wisdom of the Sris, Smrtis, and Puranas, to the abode of compassion, to the glory of the Lord, to Sankara, emancipator of the world, I bow down.
sankaram sankaracaryam kesavam badarayanam
sutrabhasyakrtau vande bhagavantau punah punah
To Sankaracarya, the redeemer, adored as Krishna and Badarayana, to the commentator of the Brahmasutras, to the glory of the Lord, I bow down again and again.
yaddvare nikhilanilimpa-parisad siddhim vidhatte’nisam
srimat srilasitam jagadgurupadam natvatma-trptingatah
At whose door, the whole galaxy of gods pray for perfection day and night, ilumined by self-effulgent radiance, the preceptor of the whole world, having bowed one’s self to Him, fulfillment comes.
Lokajnana-payoda-patana-dhuram sri sankaram sarmadam
brahmananda sarasvatim guruvaram dhyayami jyortirmayam
Skilled in dispelling the clouds of ignorance of the people, bestower of happiness, the emancipator, Brahmananda Sarasvati, the supreme teacher, full of brilliance, Him I bring to my awareness.

(INVOCATION) This offering of the invocation to the great Masters of the Holy Tradition brings a lively awareness of eternal wisdom
Āsanam samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(SEAT) This offering symbolizes the immovable seat of life in Being. In offering this seat, we feel stabilized in the immovability of Being. Offering on this firm basic are actions to fulfill cosmic purpose.
Snānam samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(ABLUTION) This offering of na ablution symbolizes the refreshing omnipresence of pure consciousness.
Vastram samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(CLOTH) This offering of coth symbolizes the garment of all-pervading Being.
Candanam samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(SANDAL PASTE) This offering os Sandal Paste spreads some pleasant cooling influence in the atmosphere.
Akṣatām samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(FULL RICE) This offering of full rice symbolizes the fullness of eternal life.
Puṣpam samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(FLOWER) This offering of a flower symbolizes the full bloom of life.
Dhūpam samarpayāmi Śrī gurucarana-kamalebhyo namah
(INCENSE) This offering of incense symbolizes the sweet frangrance of purity.
