What do converging lenses do?
They bend rays of light towards one another; bringing them to a point
What do diverging lenses do?
They bend rays of light away from each other

‘Long-sighted’ people can focus on distant objects but not near ones
What is shortsightedness?
‘Short-sighted’ people can focus on close objects but not distant ones

They are thick in the middle

What are the symptoms and causes of shortsightedness?
A Shortsighted person may have eye balls that are too long, or eye lenses that are too powerful even when the muscles are relaxed. A person who is short sighted can focus on close objects but not distant ones.

A long sighted person may have eye balls that are too short, or eye lenses that are not powerful enough. This often happens as we get older and the lens does not bend enough. A person with long sight can focus on distant objects but not close ones
