contact time 5 minutes

What are the 10 elements of SICPs?
- Assess pt for infection risk + ensure they are cared for in a safe place
- Practice good hand hygiene
- Cover nose + mouth when coughing/sneezing
- Wear suitable PPE
- Keep all reusable care equipment clean + well maintained
- Keep care environment clean + tidy
- Safely handle used linen
- Safely clean up all blood + body fluid spillages
- Dispose of all household + care activity waste
- Take corrective action if injured/ exposed to blood + body fluids
