Hawkin’s Kennedy
A
- assess for supraspinatus paratendonitis, tendinosis, or secondary impingement
- place clients shoulder in 90° flexion and elbow flexion at 90°, then passively internally rotate the arm
- positive: pain

AC Shear Test
A
- assess the AC joint
- using 2 hands, place on either side of the clients AC joint, clasping hands together and then give a good squeeze
-positive: pain or hypo/hypermobility in the joint indicating sprain

Roos Test
A
- test for TOS
- clients abducts arm to 90°, externally rotates shoulder and bring elbow to 90° flexion, then have client slowly open & close hands for 3min.
- positive: unable to keep arms in starting position for 3 min., pain, heaviness or profound weakness of the arm, numbness & tingling of the hand during the 3 min.

Neer’s Impingement
A
- assess shoulder impingement
- clients arm is passively & forcibly fully flexed with arm internally rotated
- positive: pain, possibly indicating overuse injury of the supraspinatous muscle or bicep tendon
NOTE: if test is pos. when done with arm externally rotated, check the AC joint
