  1. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
  2. Never permit the muzzle of a firearm to cover anything that you are unwilling to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger, outside the trigger guard and along the receiver, until you are committed to a shot.
  4. Be sure of your target and beyond.

Hot range concepts

A
  1. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and all safety rules must be adhered to.
  2. The Range Master will have overall command of the range.
  3. Do not anticipate the range commands.
    Hot Range Concept - Shotgun
  4. Initially, all shotguns on the range will be loaded on command.
  5. The muzzle of the shotgun must be pointed in a safe direction at all times (down range or as instructed by the Range Master).
  6. The shotgun must be unloaded and cleared before leaving the firing line. If the shotgun is grounded it will be unloaded safety on, ejection port up and the action is open.
  7. Do not leave the firing line or pick up anything off the ground without being instructed to do so.
  8. Ammunition management is your responsibility.
  9. All shotguns on the range will be unloaded and cleared on command.
  10. When moving shotguns to and from the firing line, the approved method is the carry-one position.
