Things to know about shooting

A

Bend down like sitting on a chair
Use non-dominant hand as guide hand, do not generate power from it.
Non dominant hand should become flat and pointed towards ceiling at release.
Start with Ball near thighs and have a continuous uninterrupted motion
Shooting hand should have a good grip on the ball
2 fingers pointer and middle finger should be the last to touch the ball
After release follow through and curl the wrist( put
cookie in the cookie jar every time)

A

Aim at the back of the rim(opposite side of where you are standing)
Get a good look at the aim

A

Take stutter step and get ready for a rebound

How can I generate more power and range while shooting

A

Use your hips. Hip muscle is the strongest of the whole body. Make sure to start your motion like sitting on a chair. Do not lean forward. Instead sit there there is a chair behind you and chest up.

I am not able to generate power can I use two hands

A

No No No.
Generate power from hips instead. Instead of stnading square to the basket turn the leg on shooting arm side a bit away from the basket and line it up during release. Use dominant hand to shoot and other hand as guide.

A

Feel happy. There is always a next time.

What shooting percentage should I aim for? If I take 100 shots how many should go in?

A

Just work on the checklist and shooting form and not the total number of baskets.
Just focus on not picking up bad habits.
and not the percentage.
