Shock Flashcards
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Hyperglycaemic shock??
*patient will be moaning
* skin will be pale and dry
*Blood glucose will be 24 mmol/
Treatment of hyperglycaemic coma
*Infusion of 0.9% saline intravenous drip 500ml
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Hypoglycaemic shock??
*patient will be moaning
*Skin is moist, sticky, trembling is felt
*Glucose level is 2.0 mmol/l
Treatment of hypoglycaemic shock or coma
*we introduce 40% glucose solution 40ml bolus
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Anaphylactic shock??
*lips and tongue swollen
*patient is moaning
*oxygen saturation is reduced (88-93%)
*pulse filling is weak
*Arterial blood pressure is reduced 80-100 systolic and 30-50 diastolic blood pressure
*heart sounds are frequent,muffled
*The skin is hyperemic, warm to touch
*Erythematous rash on the anterior surface of the chest
*collapsed neck veins
Treatment of anaphylactic shock
*first lower the head end of the bed, raise the patients legs
*inject 0.01mg/kg (500ml) Epinephrine intramuscularly into the anteriorlateral surface of the upper third of the hip without dilution
*Inject prednisolone 120 mg intravenous bolus, diluted in 10ml with physiological saline solution (Nacl)
*Infusion of 0.9% saline solution 500ml intravenously
*give salbutamol 2.5ml inhalation through a nebuliser
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Hypovolemic shock gastrointestinal bleeding.
*Patient is moaning
*oxygen saturation is reduced (88-93%)
* pulse of weak filling
*Arterial pressure is reduced 80-100 systolic and 30-50 diastolic
*Heart sounds are frequent,muffled.
*The skin is pale, cold to touch
*Black fluid on buttocks, Rectal-finger examination revealed black feces.
*The patient groans or feel pain on palpation of abdomen, The abdomen is hard
Treatment of hypovolemic shock gastrointestinal bleeding
- we lower the head end of the bed, raise the patient’s legs
*Infusion 0.9% saline solution 500ml intravenous
*PPI( omeprazole lyophilisate 40mg (1-3mg/kg) intravenously slowly diluted to 20ml with saline - Tranexamic acid 1000 mg intravenously slowly diluted to 20ml with normal saline
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Bronchial asthma
*patient is groaning
*oxygen saturation is reduced 88-93%
*Auscultation of the lungs is bronchial breathing ,Exhalation is sharply difficult , Dry wheezing is heard
*Neck veins are swollen
*Skin cyanosis
*tachycardia
Treatment of acute bronchial asthma attack
*Elevate patients head give Salbutamol 2.5ml inhalation through a nebuliser
*ipratropium 0.5ml inhalation through a nebuliser
*Hydrocortisone 100mg intravenous bolus diluted to 10ml of saline physiological solution
*infusion of 0.9% saline solution of 500ml intravenously
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under pulmonary embolism
*saturation is reduced {88-93%}
*pulse of weak filling
*Neck veins are swollen
*heart sounds are muffled and frequent
*Accent of 2nd tone heard in the pulmonary artery
*skin in all places is cold and moist ,upper body is cyanosis
* capillary pulse is 4 seconds
*varicose veins is seen on both legs
*Arterial blood pressure is 80-100 systolic and 30-50 diastolic
*ECG signs is signs of right heart overload (cor pulmonale)(signs of pulmonary embolism
Treatment of pulmonary embolism
*lower the head of the patient and raise the legs then administer Heparin 5000 units intravenous bolus diluted to 10ml (0.9% of Nacl
*infusion of 0.9ml saline solution 500ml intravenously
What are the signs we will notice when a patient is under Acute cerebral vascular accident
