What were the aims?
1: To produce group norms and measure their effects in the perceptions and judgements of those involved
2: To see how group behaviour developed to include related out-group hostility and hoe friction can be reduced

What is an out-group?
The group we see ourselves in competition with
What is a super-ordinate goal?
Desire, challenge, predicament or peril that both parties in conflict need to get resolved but need each others help.
How many participants and who were they?
There was 22, 12 year old boys. They were all white with a middle class, protestant, two parent background. They were matched as closely as possible on IQ and sporting ability,
What happened at the beginning of the experiment?
The boys were collected by a bus on successive days and transported to a 200 acre Boy Scouts of America camp in the Robbers Cave state park in Oklahoma. They were randomly assigned to one of two groups and were not aware of the other group.
What was the procedure?
Field experiment. They completed three stages which was the in group formation stage, a friction phase and an integration phase.
