What is a shema
it is the most important Jewish prayer recited twice daily during morning and evening service. it is a statement of faith for Jews which comes from Deuteronomy 6: 4-9

it is a statement of faith. Hear O Israel, the Lord your God is one. love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and all your might/strength
Importance of the shema
- it is a positive mitzvah which Jews should obey
- it puts emphasis on listening to Gods command for example love the lord your God with all your heart

it is recited twice daily; once during the morning service and once during the evening service. some of its word are written on the small scroll which is placed in the mezuzah.
what is a mikvah
it is a ritual bath for married women after her menstrual period or after child birth where she immerses herself fully. it is 3-5m long and 2-3 m wide filled with rain water from a stream or river.
importance of a mikvah
- it is spiritual cleansing
- it gets rid of anything that comes between women and god
what is a mezuzah
it is a scroll containing handwritten parchment that is found in a small box attached to the door post of a Jewish
importances of a mezuzah
- it serves as a reminder to obey God’s commands
- it is a visible sign that the house belongs to a Jew
- Jews can show obedience, love and respect by kissing their fingers and touching the mezuzah every time they pass it
