A

•shaun is initially represented as weak, submissive and oblivious to the crisis unfolding
•shaun is emasculated in multiple ways and fails to adhere to traditional notions of masculinity that are frequently associated with horror -
i am legend, health physically fit man going out and killing the target
•low paid job as a sales assistant and spends the majority of his time in the pub
•his girlfriend leaves him
•non heroic British everyman
•average man with no skills or capability that’s i’ll help
TRANSITION
•part way through he embraces more traditional role- becomes the leader, protector- sacrifices self to find a way in to winchester
