It is the breakdown and decay of rocks that are exposed to weather. It takes place on site and material broken down is not carried away. Two forms are Mechanical and Chemical

It is the wearing away of rocks by weathering and erosion

A
Erosion is the breaking down of rocks and the removal of the material worn away. It is done by rivers, the sea, glaciers and the wind.
