Vaginal metronidazole 0.75% x5d
Vaginal clindamycin 2% x7d

Douching Frequent sexual activity History of bv Persistent pathogenic bacteria Failure to reestablish lactobacillus predominant vaginal flora
Definition of recurrent bv
Three separate documented episodes in 1 year
Treat with 16 weeks suppressive therapy after acute treatment
Preferred diagnostic test for Trichomonas
NAAT
DNA probe is less specific
Treatment for trichomonas
Metronidazole 500mg PO bidx7d
Diagnostic criteria for candidiasis
Must have 1 of 2
- Hyphae, pseudohyphae, spores on wet mount
- Vaginal fungal culture or positive commercial diagnostic test
