Bacteria that causes non-gonococcal urethritis.

Clinical Presentation of Mycoplasma genitalium (2).
A
- Asymptomatic - similar to Chlamydia.
- Non-Gonococcal Urethritis.

Investigations of Mycoplasma genitalium (2).
A
- Very slow-growing organism :: NAAT testing (1st Urine Sample : Men, Vaginal Swabs : Women).
- Test sample for Macrolide Resistance.
- Test of Cure Post-Treatment.

Medical Management of Mycoplasma genitalium (3).
A
- 1st Line - Uncomplicated : Doxycycline 100mg BD for 7 Days and then Azithromycin 1g STAT and then Azithromycin 500mg OD for 2 Days (unless resistant to Macrolides).
- Alternative : Moxifloxacin.
- Pregnancy & Breastfeeding : Moxifloxacin.
