Do victims of sexual offences get anonymity?
A
Yes - Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992 provides lifetime anonymity to almost all sexual offences under part 1 of Sexual Offences Act 2003 (e.g. rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault by touching) as well as attempts or conspiracy

Can anonymity for sexual offences victims be lifted?
A
S.3 Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992 - court can lift the anonymity order if
- publicity is required by the accused so witnesses will come forward and potentially assist in the defence
- it is in the public interest to relax the restriction
