Define ‘sexual reproduction’.
A
Gametes fusing in the nuclei that pride variation in offspring.

Define ‘asexual reproduction’.
A
When there is only one parents (no gametes) and offspring are genetically identical (clones).

A
Egg cell, sperm cell.

A
Pollen, egg cell.

What are the advantages of sexual reproduction?
A
- Variation in offspring, increases chance of survival, thus a natural selection advantage.
- Selective breeding can be done which allows for choosing of characteristics.

What are the advantages of asexual reproduction?
A
- No time wasted looking for a partner, therefore it is faster and less energy is needed.

What are the disadvantages of asexual reproduction?
A
- If characteristics are unfavourable then it is vulnerable to changes in the environment.
