What are sex-lined traits?
Traits controlled by genes on either the X or Y chromosome
Colour Blindness stats
X-Linked recessive trait, occurs in 8% of men and 0.04% of women
How are Y-Linked Traits passed on?
From father to son, only.
How many recessive copies of a gene does each gender need to show the trait?
Girls - 2 cuz of ( XX )
Guys - 1 cuz of ( XY )
How is it possible for females to carry two X chromosomes and males only one?
The answer is that every cell has not one functioning X-Chromosome
In every female cell,one of the X chromosomes is condensed tightly into a structure now as a Barr Body
Either of the two X-Chromosomes can be inactive (this is random)

Haemophilia - the inability to clot blood ( common disease in European royal families, cuz incest)
