Define’sex’
A
- The biological differences between males and females including chromosomes, hormones and anatomy

Define ‘gender’
A
- Gender refers to a persons psychological status as either masculine or feminine
- This often includes attitudes, roles and behaviours that we associate with being male or female
- Gender is heavily influenced by societal norms and cultural expectations
- Sex is innate, gender is biologically determined

What is a sex-role stereotype?
A
- A set of beliefs and preconcieved ideas about what is expected or appropriate for males and femlaes in a given society or social group

What is gender dysphoria?
A
- When someones biologically pescribed sex does not reflect the way they feel inside and the gender they identify themselves as being.
- Such individuals may choose to have gender reassigment surgery in order to bring their sexual identity in line with their gender identity
