It is moved into the top of the uterus and the sperm cells can swim down the oviducts

The tip of the head contains chemicals which attack the coat of the egg

So they can have a thin streamline shape

It helps it swim well
Why does the cytoplasm contain a store of food
To provide energy for the fertilised egg cell
Why does the egg cell have a jelly coat
To make sure that only one sperm can enter
