When can fertilisation occur
When an egg cell meets the sperm cell in an oviduct
What/Why does the fertilised egg cell divide into
Divides to form cam ball of cells ( an embryo)
What happens after an embryo is made ?
The embryo travels to the uterus where it sinks into the soft lining (implantation)
When does an embryo become a foetus?
Once it’s developed all its organs ( after About 10 weeks )
What is the gestation period?
when the fertilised egg grows into a baby
what is external development ?
when the fertilised egg grows and develops outside of their parents

a frog

when a fertilised egg grows and develops inside its mother.

why does internal development produce more offspring than external
because the growing embryos are protected inside their mother
what does the placenta do
supplied the foetus with oxygen and food. it also gets rid of waste (especially carbon dioxide )
what connects the baby to the placenta
the umbilical cord
how can the baby be born premature
if the mother smokes, drinks to much alcohol, or takes drugs when she is pregnant.
