Digestive cesspool
The pipe from within the distribution box to the drainfield
Distribution line of a leaching tile system
A small concrete receptacle between the septic tank and the drain field in which lines of drain tiles extends and which acts as surge tank to distribute the flow of sewage equally to each line of drain tiles
Distribution box
The sewage containing human excrement and other liquid household waste. Also called sanitary sewage
Domestic sewage

Distance of cesspool from a septic tank
3 meters
A lined and covered excavation in the ground which receives the discharge of domestic sewage or other organic wastes from a drainage system, so designed as to retain the organic matter and solids, but permitting the liquids to seep through the bottom and sides; also called leaching cesspool or previous cesspool
Seepage pit
A structure which is not connected to a sewage system and is used for the reception, disposition and storage of fees or other excreta from the human body; also an outhouse used for the disposition of excrement
Privy
A watertight receptacle which receives the discharge of a plumbing system or part thereof and is designed to accomplish the partial removal and digestion of the suspended solid matter in the sewage through a period of detention
Septic tank
The septic tank capacity may be determined using sewage flow quantity value per given occupancy or type of building. For buildings with occupants the number of persons to be served shall be computed based on the number of rooms and considering each room occupied by two persons or on the basis of the actual number of persons served by the tank
Septic tank design
Shall be fitted with a sanitary tee or baffle
Outlet
Shall extend through the scum layer above the liquid level of the tank to approximately 25mm from the inside top from the tank
Outlet baffle or sanitary tee
Shall be at least not less than 50 mm above the invert of the outlet pipe
Invert of the inlet pipe
Shall be provided to divert the incoming sewage downward
Vented inlet baffle or sanitary tee
Shall penetrate at least 150 mm below the liquid level
Baffles or tee
Shall not be greater than that allowed for the baffle or the sanitary tee
Penetration
Shall not be less than 50 mm above the liquid level of the tank
Invert level of the inlet
Shall have a free vent area equal to the required cross-sectional area of the house sewer discharging therein
Inlet and outlet pipe fittings or baffles, through compartment partitions
Tank that is generally rectangular in shape
Septic tank
The septic tank shall have a liquid drawing depth not less than ____ meters
1.20
The vertical distance for the liquid level to the inside top of the tank shall be at least ___ mm
200
May have various shape provided the capacity, inlet, outlet and depth requirements met
Septic tank
The septic tank shall be provided with an inspection manhole ___sq. m in minimum area or by an equivalent removable cover slab to the inlet and outlet devices and to the compartment of the tank for inspection and cleaning.
0.36sq. m (4sq. ft)
