Baptism
When a person becomes a member of the Church.
Water is poured on the person’s head to symbolise sins being washed away.
Only happens once in a person’s life.
Confirmation
When a person chooses to confirm they are a member of the Church.
Forehead is anointed with oil

Person becomes a Child of God
Effect of confirmation
Person’s faith is strengthened and deepends.
Power of the Holy Spirit is renewed in their life
Eucharist
When a person recieves the consecrated bread and blood , the Body and Blood of Christ
Effect of the eucharist
Person receives the life of Christ.
Helps them to keep growing in God’s love
Marriage
When a man and woman give their consent to be married
Effect of marriage
Couple accept that , through their love for each other , the love of God is active in their lives
Ordination
When a person becomes a priest, deacon or bishop
Effect of ordination
Person commits themselves to God and the Church.
Given to certain powers such as being able to consecrate at Mass
Reconciliation
When a person confesses their sins to a priest
Effect of reconciliation
Person’s relationship with God is restored
Sacrament of the Sick
When a person is bery ill they are annointed with oil
Effect of the sacrament of the sick
Gives the person hope and strength to the person and also forgives their sins
