What is Gyan Dipika Scheme?
The Gyan Dipika Scheme was implemented in 2019-20. It provides financial assistance to students whose parent’s annual income is below 2 lakh per year.
What are the benefits provided under the Gyan Dipika Scheme?
Under this scheme, the Assam Government provides free textbooks, free uniforms, a subsidy of ₹700 per student for 10 months on mess bills, battery-operated e-bikes to all girl students securing 1st division or above in their higher secondary examinations.
The Government also deposits ₹50,000 to each student’s loan account in the state.
What is Assam Fee Waiver Scheme?
The Assam Fee Waiver Scheme was launched in June 2019.
It waives admission fees for students taking admission up to Post-Graduate (PG) level whose parental income is less than ₹2 lakh per annum.
This scheme covers all provincialized colleges, government colleges, and 5 universities of the state.
