Why do many people view the book of Daniel as fraudulent?
Because it contains too detailed prophecies for them to be “genuine” and hence the book must have been written after the events took place. Genuine predictive prophecy is assumed impossible.
What are three lines of argument against the genuineness and truthfulness of the book of Daniel?
- Prophetic details are intentionally deceptive (to specific to be genuine prophecy)
- Language is later than Daniel’s life (contains some Persian words and three Greek words - of musical instruments)
- Historical blunders prove account is non-historical (Belshazzar, Nabonidus)
