Interviews are preferable if:
○ Issues are complex (can probe, explain)
○ Questionnaire is long
○ Convenient point of contact (e.g. already in the clinic)
● Disadvantages are:
○ Interviewer bias
○ When you probe you may get further information
○ No anonymity
○ Cost

○ Cheap
○ Can be undertaken in private
○ Can be anonymous
● Considerations:
○ Conditional questions should be used sparingly
● Avoid if:
○ Large amount of information to gather
○ Difficult to explain
○ Literacy concerns
