What is included in the conceptual level of science?

What should a good theory be/ include?
- summarise what is already known
- huide further inquiry
- provide us with hypotheses that can be tested empirically -> results of empirical study should modify current theories
What is leadership?
A process whereby an individual influences a group pf individuals to achieve a common goal
What is management? (comp. to leadership)
Management is about administering, maintaining, controlling and imitating while having a short-term view.
What is leadership? (comp. to management)
Leadership is about innovating, developing, inspiring, originating while having a long-term view.
what are differences & similarities between management and leadership?
Similarities: involves influence, working with people and effective goal accomplishment while providing order and consistency
Differences: leadership is older when looking into the past, producing change/ movement
How does the leadership process look like?
What is important when thinking about the followers?
- the can influence the leader
- the first follower is the most important (think about dancing video)
What are five components of leadership? (think of process)
- taking charge and guiding perfromance or activity
- followers perform under guidance and instructions
- context is the situation surrounding a leader-follower relationship
- process reflects act of leadership
- the outcome includes anything arising from interplay between the leader, follower and situation
