Servo Mechanisms Flashcards
Describe the purpose of the following Systems components shown in the Open Loop system diagram
Input transducer -Converts one form of energy into another and creates the demand signal
Amplifier - Amplifies the demand signal to a size large enough to drive the motor
Motor - Moves the load to the new position
Load- The object that requires movement
Disadvantages of closed loop
More expensive
Complex
Slower response time due to position feedback
2 applications of a/c closed loop control system
Control surface
Throttle control
Breaking systems
Temperature control
Heated windscreen

Explain E and I bar
The I bar has moved closer to the right hand secondary coil and further away from the left hand secondary coil. This change in induced EMF causes an increased. voltage in the right-hand coil and a decreased. voltage in the left-hand coil.
With a difference in the outputs from each secondary coil, the ….Phase… of the output determines the direction of movement and the amplitude. determines the amount of movement.
