Yeats is mocking how they seem to know it all already and have it figured out
What need you, being come to sense
They are adding coins in a greasy till
But fumble in a greasy till and add the halfpence to the pence
They are just adding prayers up
And prayer to shivering prayer
They have sucked all there is fun to life
You have dried the marrow from the bone
People were born to pray and save money
For men were born to pray and save
