He knows his fate
I know that I shall meet my fate
Hes not doing it bc he hates the enemy or loves who hes fighting for
Those that I fight I do note hate, those that I guard I do not love
Duty or law didnt make him fight
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight
Fame didnt make him fight either
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds
What made him fight was impulse and delightment/Or he is saying he is lonely in the cockpit
A lonely impulse of delight
He thought about everything before coming to his decision
I balanced all, brought all to mind
The years coming up seemed like a waste
The years to come seemed waste of breath
The past seemed meaningless/a waste also
years behind
Hes balancing life and death/Flying is what gives him a rush in his meaningless life
In balance with this life, this death.
