What is a mixture
A mixture is many compounds mixed together that are not chemically bonded
What is a pure substance?
A pure substance is made up of one type of atom or one type of molecule
How does filtering work?
You place the water in the filter then the filtrate will start to drip and the dirt stays in the paper this is called a residue
Describe how to carry out chromatography ?
Chromatography carrie out by a piece of paper with in on it and place the water in paper
How is filtration useful?
Filtration is useful because it helps us tuen dirty water into clean water or distilled water
What is a solute
A solid substance that is dissolved into a liquid
What is a solution
A mixture that is produced when a solute gets dissolved into a solvent
What is a solvent?
A liquid in which other substances can be dissolved
What is solubility?
Something that is dissolved when mixed with a solvent

When something can no longer dissolve
Where is chromatography useful
Chromatography is useful in forged cheques and thefts
How can you test if something is pure
Check the boiling point and melting point or use chromatography
