what does filtration do
A
separation of an insoluble solid from a liquid

what does evaporation do
A
the substance is heated in an evaporating basin and the liquid evaporates, leaving a solid

what does distillation do
A
substance is heated in a conical flask and the liquid turns to steam
it rises and then travels through a pipe into a condenser ( a small tube surrounded by cold water
this condenses it and it is then emptied into a beaker
