Intra-Orbital 25mm
intra-canalicular 5mm
intra cranial 15 mm
Intra-Orbital part
is tortous why ? /
at apex its related to ?
Ciliary ganglion lie between the optic nerve and …….. rectus ?
It is pierced by ?
crossed by ? (O2N)
Tortuous for free movement of eyeball
At apex surrounded by recti
Lateral rectus
pierced by? Central artery and vein of retina
Crossed by? VAN Opthalmic artery and Superior OPthalmic vein and nasociliary nerve
IntraOrbital Optic nerve crossed by?
Opthalmic artery
superior opthalmic vein
nasociliary nerve
In the optic canal the OPtic nerce lies ……. to opthalmic artery?
Above and medial to opthalmic artery
In the cranial caviry internal carotid artery lies on lateral side of …. nerve?
Optic
Opthalmic nerve passes through ,,,,walll of cavenous sinus ?
Lateral
Mention branches of OPthlamic nerve of Trigiminal
Lacrimal
Frontal
Nasociliary
Opthlamic nerve enter the orbit through ?
Superior Orbital fissure with ? CN346
Lacrimal nerve :-The smallest branch of opthalmic
Enter the orbit via …….. runs forward along the …..wall of orbit above,,,,,,rectus with ………….(vessel).?
Recevis a communication from ……..nerve postganglionic secremotor fibers to lacrimal gland from……ganglion ?
Superior orbital fissure -lateral wall -abve lateral rectus – with Lacrimal artery
Receving from zygomatico-temporal nerve
from pterygopalatine ganglion
Mention structures supplied by Lacrimal nerve
Lacrimal gland + Lateral skin of upper eyelid
Largest branch of Opthalmic nerve is ……
enering the orbit thorugh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,runs on the ,,,,,,of orbit between ,,,,,and,,,,,,
Giving 2 branches :
1-.;……
2……..
Frontal nerve
Lateral superior orbital fissuere - on the roof- between periosteum + Levator palpabrae superioris
Giving 2 branches : -
SupraTrochlear
SupraOrbiral nerves
SupraTrochlear nerve describe
one of branches of Frontal of Opthalmic
supplying forehead + upper eyelid
SupraOrbital nerve describe
One of branches of frontal of opthalmic
Supplying (Frontal air sinus) + (forehead and scalp up to the vertex ).
Branches of Nasociliary nerve mention
AIP LO NAS

Anterior ethmoidal
Posterior ethmoidal nerves
Infratrochlear nerve
Long ciliary nerve
Nasociliary nerve
Sensory root of ciliary ganglion
______________________________
Entering the ortbit through medial superior orbital fissure between 2 divisions of Occlumotor nerve ?
Nasociliary nerve of Opthalmic
Crossing the optic nerve with opthalmic artery from lat to medial side?
Nasociliary nerve
runnging along medial wall of Orbit
Occlumotor nerve Arising from the anterior surface of ,,,,,,,
Runing on the lateral wall of ……… divedid into Superior and inferior divisons :
Both eneters the orbit through ,,,,,,,,,within,,,,,,,,,, enclosing ,,,,,nerve
Superior diivsion supply ?
inferio dicvsion supply ?
Midbrain

Cavernous sinus

superior Orbital fissure within common tendious ring enclosing the nasociliary nerve
_______________________________________
Superer divsion supply SR & LPS
Inferio dicsion supply IR IO and MR
Ciliary ganglion recevies Motor parasympathatic fibers from …….. nerve ? suplying which muscles?
Nerve to Inferiior oblique of Inferio division of Occlumotor
supplying Ciliary muscle + Shpinchter pupillae
Compelete paralysis of Occulmotor leads to ?
Ptosis
Lateral squint diplopia
Loss of accomodation
Pupil dilatation
Slight proptosis
The only cranial nerve emerging from the dorsal aspect of brain stem ?
Trochlear nerve then decussates to reach the anterior aspect
A nerve passing between 2 arterires : Superior cerebellar and posteiror cerebral arteries ?
Trochlear nerve
occlumoto emergere between the two
Running along lateral wall of cavernous sinus enetring the orbit through superior orbital fissure OUTSIDE ! common tendinous ring and passes to supply Superior oblique muscle
It is Trochlear! ^_^
Nerve attached to medial lower boreder of pons ?
Abducent CN6
Abducent :
Crosses near the apex of petrous temporal bone then in the floor of cavernous sinus InferoLaterally to ?<
Entering the orbit throgh ,,,,,,,? within ………. to supply ,,,,,,,,,,, ?
Inferolaterally to ICA in the floor of cavenrous sinus
superior orbital fissure within common tendious ring to supply Lateral rectus
Paralysis of Abducent ?
Medial squint
Diplopia
Autonomic nerves in the orbit mention
Parasympathtic to ciliary and sphincter pupillae
sympathatic to ? LPS + Dilatoor pupillae
Secretomotor to ? Lacrimal gland
Ciliary ganglion describe
Near the apex of orbit between optic nerve and LR muscles :-
1-Edinger wetephal neculeus gives fibers to occulumotor paraymp then to inferio divsion then to Neve to IO then gives communication to ciliary ganglion relying then postganglioninc parasymp arise to supplty ? Sphicter pupillae and Ciliary muscle
2-Carotid Pleux gives symp root to the ciliary ganglion without relay to be postganglioicsymp to Dilator pupillar and BVs
3-Sensations from orbit go in afferent called short ciliary nerves entering ciliary ganglion iwthout relay to reach nasocilary nerve to opthalmic of trigmenial
