define one accomplishment
object permanence is the understanding that objects still exist even when they can’t be seen, heard or touched.
one original example of this accomplishment
peek a boo is an example that demonstrates object permanence, as when one person hides themselves from an infant, if they are out of their line of sight they will believe that the person disappeared, whereas a child that has developed object permeance will understand that they still exists and may go looking for them.
how would a child who has acquired the chosen accomplishment react to playing with the toy
A child who has achieved object permanence would place the coins inside the slot, and understand that the coins have fallen into the drawer and still exist, and may try to open it to retrieve the coins.
describe how a child without this accomplishment would play with the toy
The child may be able to place the coins inside the slot, but they will be unable to retrieve them as they believe that the coins do not exists since they cannot see them anymore inside the drawer. they may even begin to cry as a result of frustration of not knowing where they went.
