define one accomplishment
understanding reversibility is the knowledge that objects are able to change and then return to their original form
–> to be able to mentally follow a sequence of events back to its starting point.
one original example of this accomplishment
understanding that ice cubes melt into water but can be frozen again back to its original form, and water can be frozen into ice cubes
describe how a child who has acquired the chosen accomplishment would play with the toy
a child who has acquired the chosen accomplishment would see that the octopus toy can be inverted, and they would flip it to a different colour and be able to turn it back, understanding that the same object is being reserved.
describe how a child without this accomplishment would play with the toy
the child would see that the toy can be flipped and will try to invert it, but once it has changed colour they would believe that was all you could do with it. they may not even be able to invert the toy overall.
