Can you name all 5 senses?
Taste, touch & pain, hear, sight and smell.
What is the sense organ of touch?
Skin.
What is the sense organ of taste?
Tongue.
What is the sense organ of smell?
Nose.
What is the sense organ of hearing?
Ears.
What is the sense organ of sight?
Eyes.
What is touch sensitive to?
Pressure heat and cold.
What is taste sensitive to?
Chemicals in food.
What is smell sensitive to?
Chemicals in the air.
What is hearing sensitive to?
Sound and gravity/movement.
What is sight sensitive to?
Light.
How does the sense of touch work?
The sense of touch is produced by nerve endings in the skin. There are different nerve endings in the skin which are sensitive to different things allowing us to sense pain, heat and cold.
What things can our tongue taste?
Sweet sour salty bitter and umami.
How do we smell?
We smell a lot of different things, with many olfactory receptors which tell the brain what you are smelling.
What as sound waves?
Sound waves are vibrations in the air.
What are the 3 tiny bones in the ear called and what do they do?
The hammer, anvil and stirrup magnify the vibrations.
