  1. Push factors (things that push you away from the organization, friends dying)
  2. Pull factors (things that pull you towards mainstream society, friends and family for example, contact theory)
  3. Exit barriers (things that stop you from leaving, getting killed if you leave)
  4. Benefits of membership (status, respect, social identity theory)
