Q

How are n-type materials made?

A

-Pentavalent atoms are added to tetravalent atoms (silicon)
-This forms an electron that isnt bonded to anything, allowing flow of current

Q

How are p-type materials made?

A

-Trivalent atoms are added to tetravalent atoms
-This creates electron vacancies (holes)
-The material behaves as a positive charge.
