What obstacles did women face in the workforce?
Woman did the nimble work that required nimble fingers.
They were treated cruelly and employers were often sexist.
What are the reasons for unemployment?
There are three main reasons for unemployment.
1) Structural- technology takes over your job and is made redundant.
2) Cyclical- when the economy goes bad and businesses close down.
3) Frictional- When you leave your job to search for new, better jobs.
Arrival of the first and second fleet?
First Fleet: Botany Bay on 18 January 1788 & Sydney Cove on January 26.
Second Fleet: Landed in Sydney in 1790
What were the instructions from the king to Governor Phillips?
To make friend with the Aborigines and treat them humanely.
What massacres impacted the Aboriginals?
There are seven confirmed massacres. Most included policemen or convicts. Some were short, some went on for a year. All resulted in the death of multiple Aboriginal people.
What were the impacts of disease on the Aboriginal people?
Disease was the biggest killer of Indigenous. These were disease brought over by Europeans and included common cold, Tuberculosis and above all the small pox.
What was the impact that of collaboration with Europeans and Aboriginal people?
While there were times of conflict, there was also times of collaboration. Many Aboriginals became policemen of trackers. Another example of collaboration was Bennelong. He work Governor Philips to bring Aboriginals into the settlement.
