Semester 2 Flashcards
Venous drainage of ovaries
Right - Directly into IVC
Left - Left renal vein
Arterial supply to ovaries
Ovarian arteries (direct branches of abdominal aorta @ L2)
Lymphatic drainage of uterus
Ovaries/uterine tubes - aortic nodes at root of ovarian artery (L2)
Body of uterus - external iliac nodes via broad ligament
Cervix - Internal iliac then superficial nodes
Fundus/round ligament - superficial inguinal nodes via round ligament
Arterial supply to distal uterus and vagina
vaginal artery
Arterial supply distal vagina and perineum
internal pudendal
Innervation of external anal sphincter
Inferior rectal branch of pudendal nerve (S2-4)
What is the pectinate line?
Base of anal columns
it highlights the end of the internal part of digestive tract
What is the white line?
The anocutaneous line
Transition to trues skin
What is the arterial supply to the wall of the rectum?
Superior rectal (IMA)
Middle rectal (internal iliac)
Inferior rectal (Internal pudendal)
Arterial supply to anal canal
Inferior rectal arteries supply the wall but superior rectal arteries are within anal columns
What is the innervation and lymphatic drainage above pectinate line?
Visceral motor
Internal iliac nodes
What is the innervation and lymphatic drainage below pectinate line?
Somatic motor and sensory
Superficial inguinal nodes
