Flexion of a joint is a decrease in the joint angle from the body in an atomic position. When the elbow is bent the forearm is fixed which means that the flexor is contracted or has pulled the bone of the forearm. Most flexion takes place in a forward direction. The exception tho this is the leg where flexion of the joint increased the angle of the joint.
