The other person is part of yourself, everyone is interconnected with their specific roles

A group or social relations is given more importance than individual’s need and wants
Code of ethical conduct
How one should act properly according to his/her relationship to other people
It is seen as the ultimate purpose of life

Subdued self
Cultivated self in confucianism is called subdued self wherein personal needs to be repressed
What is taoism?
Living in the way of the tao or the universe
Rejects the hierarchy and strictness bought by confucianism and would prefer a simple lifestyle
Self is not an extension
Self is not extension of the family or community, it is part of the universe
The ideal self is
The ideal self is selfness but this is not forgetting about the self
Buddhism
Self is seen as an illusion
to forget about the self
