Describe the emotional consequences of self-disclosure described in this chapter. Is this more beneficial for men or women?
Emotional disclosures reveal one’s private feelings, opinions, and judgments. Although both types of disclosures involve revealing information about oneself, only disclosures involving emotions and feelings appear to promote physical and psychological health

However, women are more likely to self-disclose than men and consequently may derive more benefits from self-disclosure. Nevertheless, when men do self-disclose, they experience benefits that are comparable to those experienced by women. (Technically yes because women share more but NO because they are both able to get the same benefits)

cognitive adaptation: when a negative event occurs it messes with our morals and belief in people and ourselves;
the three morals are: invulnerability, world is meaningful, and we are good people
we have to reform our thoughts and beliefs including the negative event that happened; self-disclosure helps bring new structure, organization, and cohesion into our new reality
